Reusing glass jars because you want to, not because you have to!
I think the great majority of us truly want to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle everything we can these days. I have always kind of been that way, but now I’m that way more than ever. 🙂
I want my kids to learn we have to take care of the earth we have!
As I try to re-use everything I can, I’m finding that we get very little glass these days. Most products simply don’t come in glass jars any longer, unless they’re tiny, like face cream. But I also re-purpose plastic and cans whenever I can.
So what’s my point? Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, every kid in America learns it in school, and as adults we need to lead by example. The great thing is, you don’t have to know all the answers. Kids don’t care! Learn WITH your kids as you go. I’m not a recycling expert, but I try every single day to lead by example for my kids. 🙂
There are so many things you can store nicely in glass jars, such as chocolate chips, marshmallows, M&M’s, small crackers, pasta, buttons, crayons, and the list goes on and on. Plastic jars are great too, they’re excellent for younger kids to store all their little treasures in.
*Megamommy Note: Glass jars with any type of chalkboard paint and chalk writing are adorable! However, let me tell you as a mother, this is very hard to do with young boys in the house! Mysterious things tend to happen with their little fingers.
Today’s post is just a friendly reminder to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle everything you can, and teach your kids how to do the same, that way they will know how forever!
