Let me share on little tip with you right now…the longer the salsa sloppy joes simmer the better they get. 🙂
Please enjoy my friends!
So you can see some of the yummy veggie pieces from the salsa and the chopped jalapeño in this recipe. Delicious!
We like to enjoy these on wheat dollar buns, but any kind of bun you like would work just fine! This is also very good served over rice.
One of the things I like best about this simple recipe is you can add your own heat by simply increasing the number of jalapenos. It’s just that easy!
The Best 5 Ingredients Salsa Sloppy Joes
1 lb. lean ground beef, browned
3/4 cup chunky salsa or picante sauce
1 (5.5 0z.) can V-8 Spicy Hot Vegetable Juice
1-2 jalapeños, seeds removed and finely chopped
1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
salt & pepper to taste (salt, pepper and water are a free ingredient in 5 Ingredient cooking)
Season ground beef with salt and pepper as desired. Brown ground beef in a skillet. Combine all ingredients in pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 10 to 15 minutes. For an even better flavor simmer longer. The longer the salsa sloppy joes simmer the better they get.
*If making larger quantities feel free to add another can of V-8 to the mixture to give the Salsa Sloppy Joes enough liquid.
Note: The pepper jack cheese gives a wonderful little kick to these sloppy joes, but it’s not necessary. The Salsa Sloppy Joes are wonderful just the way they are so the pepper jack is not considered one of the ingredients.
