My kids absolutely LOVE Lucky Charms! I must admit every so often I have a bowl and I am reminded how much I LOVE Lucky Charms too!
So when I saw Chocolate Lucky Charms at the store I knew I had to get some. Around here they’re on the shelves at different times of the year, but not all the time.
With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner I wanted to do something FUN, but easy for the upcoming holiday. Something that you can make with your kids, friends, or family without too much hassle!
So here you have Chocolate Lucky Charms, extra marshmallow and white chocolate combined to make my very delicious Chocolate Lucky Charms Treats with White Chocolate!
As you can see I like a little extra marshmallow in these treats, that’s why I use 5 cups of cereal instead of your standard 6 cups. If you don’t like extra marshmallow simply add 1 more cup of cereal to the mixture.
My kids can go through a box of those things like nothing and they’re always kind of stale tasting to me. Now I make my own Lucky Charms Treats, usually with regular Lucky Charms and we’re all happy. Now for the white chocolate on the bottom of these delicious cereal treats. If it were just me eating these I would’ve dunked the treats much deeper into the white chocolate!
My boys can/will only tolerate so much white chocolate before they shy away, so I went lighter than I wanted to. What you can’t tell from the picture is how wonderful these simple flavors are together! Such a fun treat for a St. Patrick’s Day or any other day of the year!
Chocolate Lucky Charms Treats with White Chocolate
4 tablespoons butter, unsalted
10 ounce bag of marshmallows (miniature or regular)
12 ounces bright white candy melts, or melting chocolate almond bark
1. Spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with cooking spray. Set aside. Measure out 5 cups of Lucky Charms cereal. I also like to spray my saucepan with cooking spray.
2. Melt the butter and marshmallows in a large saucepan over LOW heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat.
3. Add cereal to the mixture. Stir until cereal is well coated and mixture is evenly distributed. Transfer mixture to prepared pan and use a spatula or waxed paper to evenly press into pan. Let cool completely. Cut into squares, or desired shape.
4. Line a large baking sheet with parchment or a silicone baking mat. Melt the white chocolate according to package instructions. Hold the cereal treat by the top and dip the bottom into the white chocolate, dip as much or little as you please. Place cereal treats white chocolate side up on prepared baking sheet. Allow chocolate to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Stores treats for up to 5 days.
