My Fourth of July Rice Krispie Treats are such a fun and wonderful treat for the upcoming holiday and they travel well for anywhere you want to take them!
Sometimes you just need a dessert that’s not too complicated to make, but still really special! You know what I mean? Truly, just a few extra steps take my Fourth of July Rice Krispie Treats from ho-hum to yum!

If you can’t find red, white and blue sprinkles or Stars & Stripes Funfetti cake mix, don’t worry! Simply use rainbow sprinkles and regular Funfetti cake mix, the combo is just as yummy.
Fourth of July Rice Krispie Treats
Prep time: 10 min | Total time: 45 min (includes cooling)
5 cups Rice Krispie cereal, or your favorite store brand
4 tablespoons butter
1 – 10 oz. bag marshmallows, mini or regular size
3/4 cup dry Stars & Stripes Funfetti cake mix
1/2 cup red, white and blue sprinkles, plus for sprinkling on top
1 bag white chocolate melts, or white chocolate chips
1. Spray 13×9-inch pan, or 8 or 9-inch square pan with cooking spray. Using a 8 or 9-inch square pan will give you a thicker bar, 13 x 9 will give you a thinner bar. Measure out rice krispies and place in a large bowl; set aside.
2. Melt the butter and marshmallows in large saucepan over LOW heat, stirring occasionally. Remove pan from heat; stir in cake mix until smooth.
3. Add rice krispies to the mixture. Stir until well coated using a rubber spatula (sprayed with cooking spray) to incorporate everything. Once the mixture has cooled a bit, add the sprinkles and continue to mix. Transfer mixture to prepared pan and use a spatula or waxed paper to evenly press into pan. Let cool.
4. Melt white chocolate melts, or white chocolate chips according to package instructions. Spread melted chocolate over rice krispie treats until smooth and sprinkle with red, white and blue sprinkles or sprinkles of choice on top of white chocolate for decoration. Transfer to the fridge for 15-20 minutes to allow treats and white chocolate to set before cutting. Cut into small squares. Serve at room temperature. Best when eaten same day.
