March 4, 2014 · by Mega ·

This bar balances toasted oat cereal with marshmallows and a classic smooth marshmallow mixture, topped off with creamy white chocolate, and sprinkles.

There are many, many different types of marshmallow treats out there these days. Right around this time of year, marshmallow treats made with Lucky Charms seem to be all the rage.

It makes sense, Lucky Charms and St. Patrick’s Day are a great match! Today I made White Chocolate Charmed Treats, or Lucky Charm Treats made with white chocolate.

This is one of those treats that’s a lot of fun to make for St. Patrick’s Day. They’re especially fun to make with the little helpers, your kids.

Grab your kids and go have some fun in the kitchen!

These treats can be cut in any shape you like. I chose circles because they look nice and they’re an easy shape to eat and enjoy.

I used melted Dove white chocolate hearts to top my White Chocolate Charmed Treats. It doesn’t need to be Dove white chocolate. You can certainly use regular white chocolate chips, or even candy melts.

It may be a little early, but Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Ingredients:                                                                            WCCT_108

4 tablespoons butter

1 package (10.5 ounces) marshmallows

6 cups Lucky Charms cereal, or any marshmallow charms cereal

8 ounces Dove white chocolate, any brand can be used

2-3 tablespoons St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles, or any other you prefer

Directions:

1. Spray a 13 x 9 cake pan with nonstick cooking spray. If you would like a thicker bar, feel free to use a smaller pan. Set pan aside.

2. Lightly spray a large pot with nonstick cooking spray. It makes clean up much, much easier. Melt the butter and marshmallows in a large pot over medium-low heat, stirring frequently. Once marshmallows are completely melted and smooth, add the cereal. Stir until completely combined. Pour the mixture into prepared pan and press into an even layer.

3. Place pan in refrigerator and allow it to set before cutting, about 30 minutes. Remove the cooled treats from the pan to a cutting board. Using a 2-1/2 inch round cookie cutter, or a regular glass that measure about 2-1/2 inches at the opening. Cut out rounds and set aside.

4. Microwave white chocolate to melt completely. Stir white chocolate to make sure there are no lumps. Put treats rounds a wax paper lined cookie sheet and cover with white chocolate, then top with St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles. Once chocolate has set, place the treats on a serving platter and serve.

Makes 12 treat rounds.

*A smaller pan can be used if you would like a thicker bar.
