January 20, 2014 · by Mega ·

A fun and yummy spin on the classic rice cereal treats that have long been a favorite among people of all ages!

Every time I make these they’re a huge hit! Not only does my family love these Loaded Rice Krispie Dippers, but we seem to somehow always have extra visitors when these treats are in the house. 🙂

It took a few tries of making these to get them exactly how I wanted them. I encourage you to do the same, feel free to play with flavors and candies. But, I do have to say I think these three combos are pretty darn good.

These dippers have just the right amount of extra goodies to make them really special without being too heavy or too much. That my friends is a good thing, especially after a big meal!

The three favorites with my fellas are these yummy dippers with rainbow sprinkles, brownie crumbles, and of course miniature M&M’s. This is one of those fun desserts you can easily do with the kids if you want to, please read my note at the bottom.

Enjoy!

My first loaded dipper is dipped in chocolate and then in miniature M&M’s. You can use mini M&M’s, or any brand you want of chocolate coated candy. Please note, the minis are much easier to work with in these recipe.

Then of course we have the rainbow sprinkles. Like most kids, my kids believe rainbow sprinkles make everything taste better! They kind of do. 🙂

Of course we can’t forget the loaded dipper that is dipped in chocolate and then brownie crumbles. This one is the one that most people tend to go for.

This one can get a little heavy, I must admit. However, this one is by far the favorite choice of my kids and most kids in general!!

Loaded Rice Krispie Dippers

A fun and yummy spin on the classic rice cereal treats that have long been a favorite among people of all ages!

Ingredients:

4 cups Rice Krispies, or any brand toasted rice cereal

3 cups Cocoa Krispies, or any brand cocoa flavored toasted rice cereal

1/4 cup butter

1 package (10 ounces) marshmallows + 2 extra handfuls of marshmallows (you don’t have to add 2 extra handfuls, I like the extra touch of marshmallow)

1/2 cup chocolate chips

chocolate for dunking – 1 (12 oz.) package chocolate chips, or 1 (14 0z.) package chocolate flavored candy melts – I used a bag of chocolate chips, milk chocolate flavor

crumbled brownies for topping, optional

miniature M&M’s for topping, optional

sprinkles for topping, optional

Directions:

1. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking pan generously with cooking spray. Set aside.

2. In a large pot, melt 1/4 cup butter and 1 package (10 oz.) marshmallows (and two extra handfuls if you’re using more) over medium-low heat, stirring, until smooth. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips until well blended, then 4 cups regular toasted-rice cereal and 3 cups chocolate flavored toasted rice cereal until combined. Press into a 13 x 9 baking pan; cool.

3. Melt 1 package (12 ounce) chocolate chips, or 1 (14 ounce) package of chocolate flavored candy melts according to package instructions. Remove treats from pan and cut into 16 strips/bars.

4. Place treats on rack set over wax paper. Gently dunk each stick or spread candy or melted chocolate chips over each bar to cover. Press on assorted candies. Let stand until set.

Makes 16 servings.

* If this is something you choose to do with the kids be sure have the kids spread the chocolate on top of the bars rather than dunk them. It’s much easier for children. You should also plan on using two bags of chocolate rather than one, but it’s well worth it. 🙂
