Candy Mix-Up Bars

March 25, 2013 · by Mega ·

Title Pic_Candy Mix-up Bars

These are a lot of fun to make and eat! This is another family-favorite, that I hope your family will enjoy as much as mine does.

The best part about these bars is they can be made with any combination of candy and/or chocolate chips you want to use!

On different days I like different things. Today’s combo was chocolate chips, M&M’s (use any flavor you like), Milk Duds, and Reese’s Pieces.

I have made these using just chocolate chips before, numerous candy combinations, and lots of fun and different holiday candy combinations, and they always turn out great!

Play around and use whatever your family likes.

Kids love these bars because you can use their favorite candies, that’s if you want to, of course. 🙂

Candy Mix-Up Bars

INGREDIENTS

1 white cake mix

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

2 large eggs

3 tablespoons whole or lowfat milk, or flavored creamer

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup miniature M&M’s

1/2 cup Reese’s Pieces

1/2 cup Milk Duds

*the idea is that you use two cups total of candy, chocolate chips, or any combination thereof

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously spray a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.

2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, brown sugar, butter, eggs, and milk with a large spoon until well blended. Mix in the chocolate chips, M&M’s, Milk Duds, or any other candy you are using. Don’t use a mixer or the candy will come out broken, and not as nice looking. Spread mixture into the prepared pan.

*Rather than mixing the M&M’s into the mixture I like to sprinkle them on top, and press into the dough.

3. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until just set. Trasnfer to wire rack and cool completely. Cut into bars, or cut with cookie cutter into desired shape.
